The following are a basic list of principles that you can do by yourself to help yourself heal and grow in a relationship with Christ.

  1. Do you believe in God?
  2. Do you believe God is who He says He is? ( This is a biggie in the healing process) Exodus 34:5-7,        2 Samuel 22:32-34
  3. Do you believe you have a purpose  Jeremiah 29:11,
  4. What is it you are wanting for yourself as far as healing?  Do you have a plan or goal set?
  5. Are you willing to work for change in your life? 2 Samuel 14:20, Exodus 15:26, Psalm 30:2
  6. We must change our patterns to grow in relationship with God. Too many people put God last because they do not have time. (instead of working out or heading to the gym, set that time a side for God, same with that hour of relaxing after work to watch the news. Forget the news and talk to God, research scripture, read devotionals... MAKE THE TIME
  7. Do the work and be held accountable... Each week review what you have done. This week I read my bible, this week I wrote in my journal daily, this week I replace negative thoughts with positives, this week I prayed about forgiveness etc... Psalm 147:3, Jeremiah 17:14
  8. Journal, Journaling is an important step. When we journal, we remove things from the inside and take steps to keeping things buried we don't want to face.  We also can write to God in our journal. Tell Him that your angry and why. Ask God to help you with the bitterness, unforgiveness you are holding onto. Seek direction. You can also keep a list in your journal what you want for yourself.  If you are private and afraid someone will get ahold of your journal and know your personal thought, then burn it.  The purpose of this journal is for you to write to God and grow closer to Him.
  9. Make a list of every negative thing in your life.. That is what hurts you, scares you, what you think of yourself.   Then for each negative thing, replace it with a positive thing.  For example, I hate myself, Why do you hate yourself? I am beautiful and have a huge heart.  This list may be very long and that is ok. Even if you don't believe it about yourself at the moment, still write down positives.  Maybe things you want to be, Loved, Beautiful, Smart, Hard working, Compassionate...
  10. Keep a list of encouraging scripture or things with you ALWAYS... Pull this list out and read it, when the enemy starts to attack you thoughts.
  11. Work on your belief system, What do you believe?
  12. Healing begins with changing our beliefs and renewing our minds.  Romans 12:2
  13. Faith as small as a mustard seed can grow into greatness. Luke 17:6, Mark 5:34
  14. Where is your focus?  (x husband, job, kids, neighbors, things etc...) Focus on YOU and your relationship with God. Everything else is out of your control. Focusing on changing situations is keeping you locked in captivity and you can not move forward. God is the goal, keep your eyes on Him. Hebrews 12:2
  15. Get rid of self entitlement.   God promises to provide for our every need, not our wants. Our deeds on earth do not go unnoticed. The rewards we are promised are for eternity not earthly things. Would you rather have material things for 80 years on earth that you cannot take with you, or would you rather have riches in eternity which is forever? Revelation 21:4
  16. Believing Gods ways are better than our ways. Isaiah 55:8-9
  17. Leaning on God and not our own understanding on how we think things should be. Proverbs 3:5-7
  18. Build your self image on how God sees you. 1 Peter 2:9, Ephesians 1:4
  19. Have a support team that are Christians or from church to help you with encouragement
  20. Study the scriptures and find out why you were created and what God says about who you are and His great purpose for you. 1 Peter 2:24

What I know and believe about God!!

God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.

God created me in His image.

God keeps His promises.

God loves me and chose me for a purpose.

God is always with me and will never leave my side.

When we are going through trials, God is closest to us.

I can do anything through Christ who gives me strength.

I believe God knew me before I was created in the womb.

I believe I was set aside to be a prophet of many nations.

I believe God sent His only Son to be sacrificed so I could be set free of sins and have eternal life.

I believe even when I am not with God, He is still with me.

I believe God wants great things for me.
